Ingredients:
- 2 cups long-grain rice
- 4 ripe tomatoes
- 2 bell peppers
- 1 onion
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- Salt (to taste)
- Hot pepper (optional)
Steps:
1. Rinse the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for about 20 minutes to soften it.
2. Wash the tomatoes, bell peppers, and onion. Cut them into small chunks and blend them in a blender or food processor. Pour the blended mixture into a pot and cook on medium heat for about 20-25 minutes until the mixture thickens.
3. Peel and chop the garlic cloves. Add them to the tomato mixture and stir in the tomato paste. Cook for 5 minutes.
4. Add the oil, butter, thyme, smoked paprika, ginger powder, garlic powder, curry powder, salt, and hot pepper (if using) to the tomato mixture. Stir well to combine.
5. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Stir the rice to coat it with the tomato mixture. Add water to the pot, enough to cover the rice by about half an inch.
6. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and bring the mixture to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20-25 minutes until the rice is fully cooked and fluffy.
